Fake news didn’t become a big problem until the news had become an echo chamber, a place where partisans assembled to get their beliefs and biases reinforced with rabid re-bar and cohort concrete, when people assumed responsibility for their own truths, relegating news sites and orgs to roles of auto-validation and event planning.
